I am used to writing books for brands…
Writing & self-publishing my own book was a 1st.

A 1-year project that began in Spring 2018. 4 seasons later, in July 2019, the book was published.

An ecological & educational tale. A 100% Swiss Made book born, written, illustrated, designed, translated, edited, printed – in an environmentally sustainable manner on FSC label paper – and published in 🇨🇭.

The impulse & inspiration: my daughter Jade, her love for Nature and her boundless sense of daring creativity.

The subject: environmental protection, how Nature works and grows so well on its own & how trees are interconnected; communicating, helping & sharing their resources in a very smart as well as sustainable way.

The KING LIZARD’S KINGDOM book pays tribute to the wealth of an unspoiled natural environment that generously proffers its treasures. A world consisting of Nature to be discovered, felt, touched, seen, listened to & respected.

Through its narrative, the book addresses messages such as solidarity, trust & believing in your dreams.

Imagination is the most wonderful power we all have within us. Sometimes we just need to be reminded of it.

Some books have this ability to nourish our imagination, to make us grow, travel & dream at the same time. My wish is for this book to unleash that power.

skills are combined in more powerful creative ways.

Thanks to my storytelling, I have been lucky to meet and work with talented people.

Learning, growing and broadening how my words could be translated into stories through different platforms and mediums.

When I create storyboards, story-lines and voice-overs for movies, documentaries and advertising films, my words' impact becomes tridimensional fused to the power of cinematic filming and author-composed soundtracks. I like how words, images and music meet and mingle to add layers of narrative depth and spark genuine emotions.

This particular project goes well beyond words.
I am happy to share that alongside @be_the_one_through_my_words , I am also part of @stay.wild.studio , a collective of creative and inspired souls that have stayed wild at heart.

From the field to the fragrance.

I’ve been telling stories on roses – damascena & centifolia, absolutes and fragrances for years.

My Centifolia rose journey starts with Amandine & Bastien at Domaine Clos Notre Dame next to La Colle Noire.

May is roses’ month. In the morning, the harvest starts when the flowers bloom and roses have to be picked on the same day they blossom.

To keep their freshness, full smell properties and qualities, the roses are directly transformed into absolute, concrete scent or essential oil before the flowers start to ferment.

Before being heated with liquid solvent into a vat, flowers are spread out on the ground like a bed or roses.

Known as the rose of hundred leaves or May rose, the rose centifolia is one of the two roses of perfumery.

1 rose flower = 2 g
1 jute bag of flowers = 15 kg
1 day of roses picking = 700 kg
1 kg of absolute = 600 kg of raw roses

Into the rose fields, my nose saturated by the rose smell, I’ve learned from the masters - the Rebuffel family - how to grab a blossom by the calyx to cull a rose, with one finger over and one under, twisting quickly to hear the snap. It reminds me of my childhood when I was picking grapes with my grandparents.

Water is his element, his territory.

Alan Roura is like a messenger of freedom.

He has big dreams!

ALAN ROURA : THOUSANDS OF NAUTICAL MILES ON THE CLOCK
A top-level sportsman, entrepreneur, sailor, dreamer, adventurer and born competitor, Alan Roura is an assured and charismatic skipper, sensitive to his environment and attuned to the human perspective in all he does.

He’s the first and youngest finisher of the Vendée Globe and the holder of the North Atlantic record. He has the kind of determination that marks out the biggest names in history.

On board with Hublot Sailing team, he sails in a human adventure, a 100% Swiss project. He is now charting a course towards his new dream: the victory in the Vendée Globe 2024 – “The Everest of the seas” – the world's most challenging sailing race.

This will be his third consecutive edition – aged just 31. Like all skippers, Alan has had to deal with some serious storms and technical issues. He's been dismasted, taken on water, suffered injury and been forced to abandon. His career has been fraught with setbacks and doubts, yet his determination, resilience and ambition have also brought him success.

“Victory is not merely a matter of reaching the summit first; the way you climb is just as important. My own summit is the Everest of the seas – the Vendée Globe – an extraordinary race in which success is shaped by the adventures and the people that take you there. When you want something, you have to be relentless. Which is fortunate, because neither Hublot nor myself are the relenting types!"
